Vintage Jaymar Wood Mammy Toy with Box Black Memorabilia

Vintage Jaymar Wood Mammy Toy with Box Black Memorabilia. This is a real curiosity. I could not get it to work, and I suspect that the spool with the string round it was originally mounted on an axle. When you pulled the string the spool would spin on the axle and cause the figure to move. That's my theory, anyway! Height 3 1/4 inches. Not much detail in the face but this might be how it was made. Box is very presentable - the top flap is detached but present and there is some tape where somebody tried to reattach it.
