Old Unusual Rhinestone Pendant with Chain

Unusual pendant on a one piece 24" chain. I have a feeling this may have originally been a dress ornament that was made into a pendant a long time ago by a *very* skillful metalsmith, as there are small loops on either side that could have been used to attach it to a garment. If this is true, the workmanship is excellent, because the join is invisible. All stones are bright and clear. Unknown materials, no makers marks. Approx 1 5/8 2 inches wide by 2 1/4 2 inches tall.
