Porcelain Portrait Brooch in 925 Silver Frame

Period portrait on porcelain, set in granulated silver frame (marked 925). I'm not quite sure how this decoration was applied, but I'm pretty sure it isn't hand painted. Seems to be covered by some sort of lacquer or resin that shows some very slight fogging in the center area of pin. Under extremely high (30x) magnification there are extremely tiny, almost microscopic, bubbles visible in this coating. No mark as to maker or origin. Fastens with modern safety catch. Measures approx. 1 5/8 x 2 1/4 inches.
