Unusual Bee Pin Brooch - Mesh Wings

This unusual goldtone bee pin or brooch has mesh wings, reminiscent of the kind of mesh that old mesh purses are made of. Measures approx. 1 1/4 inches x 2 inches. Finish isn't quite as bright as it appears to be in the picture, but condition is very good, with no damage. Pin fastens with a modern safety catch. I have a hunch who might have made this, but we've found no marks of any kind to indicate the maker or place of origin.
